Doctor’s Cave Beach
A beach stop with a place in Montego Bay’s story. Check the bathing club’s current admission and facilities before you go.
Make it part of your visit.
Doctor's Cave Beach is a managed beach and bathing club on Jimmy Cliff Boulevard. Its history begins with the donation of beach property by Dr Alexander James McCatty in 1906. Today it is one of the Strip's main places to make swimming and time by the sea the centre of a visit.
The club publishes daily opening hours and information about admission and beach facilities. Use those official pages to plan what to bring and what you may wish to hire. Changing rooms, showers and beach-related services are useful distinctions when comparing a managed beach day with a casual stop at a public waterfront park.
This is a good starting point for visitors who want to combine beach time with nearby cafés, shops and restaurants. Starbucks at Doctor's Cave is a separate business in the same beach setting; the bathing club and Doctor's Cave Beach Hotel are also different places, despite their similar names.
Check admission, equipment availability and current beach conditions with the club before travelling specifically for an activity. We have not repeated an admission price where the currency needs clarification. The official site and directions links are the appropriate next steps for planning a visit.
