Old Hospital Park
A public-space stop with a hospital story behind its name, adding a little local history to a boulevard walk.
Make it part of your visit.
Old Hospital Park occupies the site of the former St. James Hospital. A historical marker records the hospital’s opening in 1929 and the later move of hospital services to Cornwall Regional, giving this part of the waterfront a story beyond its present-day view.
It makes sense as a short history stop rather than a whole-day attraction. Look for the interpretation on site and use the pause to place the boulevard in the wider story of Montego Bay. A few minutes of attention can change the way you see a familiar road.
Plan around daylight and current access conditions. Keep park visits and swimming plans separate: a public space beside the coast does not tell you the day’s sea conditions or which beach facilities are available. Continue to another stop when you are ready.
